The philosophy of Jugendstil is to create a total work of art, so everything from the spoon you stir, to the washing up liquid bottle on your sink could and should be art. And so we come to this coffee pot by Ohme. It serves a purpose. It pours coffee. But it is also a true work of art, incorporating elegant and organic forms within the clay itself. Flowing lines decorated with floral motifs.

The china itself is unblemished, no chips, crazing or cracks. The colour has rubbed off to some extent, how much I can't say because I can't find a picture of the original. I believe it is worth more than the price I have put on it. But I like to pass on value where I find it, and I got this beautiful piece for a steal.
