Hutschenreuther | Antique | Rare Hand-Painted & Gilded Mocha Cups c.1920, Bavarian Miniature

A superbly hand-painted, gilded Hutschenreuther mocha cup, produced between 1925-39 (according to the backstamp). This little cup was manufactured in the period between lavish Victorian floral decoration and Art Deco minimalism, which explains their stylish straddle between the two. The handle shape, and the black and gold obviously lean toward the latter, while the detail on the hand painted flowers hearken to the past.

There is a little wear on the pattern, commensurate with age. The cups are 6.5cm width x 5cm height, saucer 12cm in diameter.
