There are several very cute and chintzy pink versions of this cup that I've seen off and on over the years, but this is the first time I've come across this patten in yellow and blue. And the difference it makes is extraordinary; the colouring is more subtle, and because of this, the gilding seems less flashy, the tone more elegant and the final effect more striking.

Union K was a partnership formed in 1921 between three reputable porcelain manufacturers from Bohemia, Austria and Czechia with headquarters in Klosterie, Czechoslovakia. The K stands for Klosterie; however world events conspired to run it out of business and it closed in 1939. These cups are not antique therefore, but in a very few years they will be.
