Did you know? This beautiful, bright, pink Cup & Saucer set by Carl Tielsch (who founded the Altwasser factory in 1845) is considered in the same league and quality as Meissen!
Even though pink seems less “serious” as a porcelain, pink lusterware (for example) was developed in the UK by Wedgwood (a serious potter!) at the turn of the century (1805). The most famous pink lusterware set was proudly owned by an American president, Teddy Roosevelt.
These particular cups & saucers are antique, since the pottery mark is the one used by C.T. between 1845 and 1909. They have a gold filigree pattern around their concave middle, and a raised relief pattern on the saucer. The gold is a little worn, but so would you be after 100 years.
This listing is for one Cup & Saucer.
