Rörstrand | Mandarin | Model VB | Teacup

Mandarin is an rare beast in the VB series I feel, or at least one of two that I know of. This one and the other - Aleppo (seen in picture 8) both sit on a rustic, matt saucer very much resembling the ceramics used in chinese tea ceremonies - which is enough to make me fall in love with it (I adore the ceremonial aspect of tea as well as the leaf's prestigious history). Unlike many others in the VB series then, the cup and saucer do not have a matching pattern but instead a mystical complementary one.
