Masons | Vista (blue) | Vintage Bedford Sauce Tureen (small) w. Ladle & Saucer c. 1940

This is a really lovely piece, or rather - and fairly unusually - four pieces consisting of the tureen, its lid, the original ladle and the saucer.

Nowadays sauce terrines (or sauce boats or even saucieres, depending on where you're from or which 'class') are usually available without the ladle (since it's the first thing likely to be dropped) or the accompanying saucer, unless of course its attached to the actual tureen as some are.

Masons made the Vista pattern from 1890-2000, which obviously means there's a big range of value concerning whether the piece is vintage (less than 100 years old) or antique (more than 100 years old).

One clue is that the bottom says 'England' not 'Made in England' which was introduced in 1923. But nevertheless you can still find pieces marked just England until around 1950 or so. I'm going to be conservative and date it 1940.
