Göran Bäck (1923–2003) was one of Finland’s leading ceramic artists in the 20th century. He was part of the Nordic design tradition aiming for more beautiful every day goods for everybody. After working as a thrower at his sister's pottery studio, Göran worked for the Arabia factory for more than 35 years. Arabia was founded by the Swedish Rörstrand, to avoid the high trade tariffs when Finland was a part of Russia.
