If you know anything about English pottery, you'll have realised that Wedgwood has an almost ubiquitous presence throughout every big name. Whether through mentorship, merger, or influence there is almost always a connection. In this case, Soho Pottery was headed by Joseph Palin Thorley who was an apprentice at Wedgwood before WW1. After fighting in the trenches in France, he returned to Soho Pottery to lead the way in some magnificent creations, including this beautiful plate. It's too special to use for for regular ol' sandwiches... in fact it's a plate which might almost make me become a woman-who-puts-plates-on-the-wall (a lifelong fear of mine).
Plate diameter: 19.5cm
