Gustavsberg | Dekor 1077 | Art Nouveau/Deco | A | Old Gustafsberg c.1920

Some believe collectophilia is a flaw others (like me) believe its a feature… so onto my latest Model A acquistion. 

The pattern is known only as Dekor 1077, but it’s likely to have been borrowed from another source (as opposed to designed in house). It's remarkably similar for example, to my listing on a royal crown aynsley cup (check out the included picture). There are a couple of things to note though. 

Firstly that the stamp on the cup dates it to between 1920-40. After this time and for the round stamps the Gustavsberg is wrapped around tightly in a circle; here it is an arch rather than a circle. 

Secondly that this is the first stamp which uses the "V" as opposed to the F (Gustafsberg) after Sweden rationalized its language thanks to The Orthography Reform of 1906. If you hunt porcelain on the inter web, it’s always useful to remember that a whole swathe of Gustavsberg porcelain is only accessible on some sites if you type in gustaFsberg (sometimes even only Royal Gustafsberg!)
