Fabulous coffee cups from Hermann Ohme, with characteristic Nouveau relief and artful flowing floral lines. The gold edges are worn of course, but that doesn't detract one iota from their beauty. The stamp dates these cups to the era between 1882 and 1900; my oldest Ohme yet.

I'm about to put out a separate listing for the matching sugar bowl and hot water jug. The set originally came with a coffee pot too, however the lid is sadly broken-if you're interested in this piece, please get in touch.

This listing is for one cup and saucer, however I have six and would rather sell them together. For that reason if you add 3 or more to your cart, you'll get an automatic discount of 100 SEK on each cup.

(How does it calculate? 1 for 350, 2 for 700, 3 for 750, 4 for 1000 etc.)

***

Hermann Ohme factory was located in Niedersalzbrunn, Silesia, Germany now the town of Walbrzych in Western Poland. Sadly this factory went out of business in 1928. Why? Not because its products weren't valued, but because in 1930, the world financial crisis occurred and Ohme, who'd exclusively focused on exports, got caught in the downward spiral. However, that also means there's a little bit of mystique around Ohme porcelain...no one is quite certain how many patterns were produced, which means there is always the potential for exciting new discoveries around the corner.
