No blue & white cup collection created in Sweden would omit an OstIndia from the lineup. Winner of numerous accolades, fodder for romantic stories about 18th century ship wrecks, it is second only in celebrity to the esteemed Willow itself. The Ostindia pattern is Rörstrand's longest produced pattern (still going strong today), and was first manufactured in 1932. It has been voted Sweden's service of the century.This particular inclusion I think, dates from around 1980s, because it's marked dishwasher safe. This also means its made of porcelain and is transluscent, vs. the flintware it was once made in (which is not dishwasher safe!!).
