Adams | Royal Ivory Titianware | Antique Cake Plate

Royal Ivory Titianware by Adams (Staffordshire company, now owned by Wedgwood) is no longer produced and extremely collectible. This decor on this plate has a startling clarity and although it uses vintage colours - orange, blue, & yellow, - itnevertheless feels fresh and contemporary.

Produced between 1922-28, this particular plate has an extra facet of a silver plated nickle carrying handle added by the Swedish company Prima; I haven't seen a plate like this before, i.e. an antique english plate with an additional silver plated carying handle from a Swedish manufacturer, which leads me to suspect that this was a requested modification, at the time of import, albeit performed by a professional. Since very few cake handles nowadays are silver, gold or silver plated (usually they are stainess steel or brass) this item is truly one of a kind.

There is a chip on the underside of the plate, not visible when on the table but for this reason the price is reduced.
