Arklow | Buttercups | Demitasse duo | c. 1940s

I don't know for sure that this cup is called Buttercups... It could well be called sunflowers or primroses, because I can't find the pattern. However I can tell you that this beautiful cup dates from before 1949, so it's very properly vintage. The back stamp on the cup has Made in Ireland, but from 1949, Ireland became an independent republic and from that moment on, every cup proudly stated that it was made in the Republic of Ireland. A hard won battle indeed.
