Rörstrand-ALP Lidköping | Vintage cup & saucer

ALP Lidköping is the porcelain factory which merged through various restructurings with Göteborgs Keramik & Rörstrand.

Theoretically the company now known as Rörstrand could have been called any of the three names... but they did of course go with Rörstrand. Maybe because it had the historical kudos of being the second porcelain factory in Europe? However, for a short time around 1942-3 their products were branded Rörstrand-Lidköping. 

This is a very rare stamp, and it's lovely to find it on an unblemished item. This cup and saucer is Bavarian in style, with criss crossed gold filigree, pink roses and a navy rim.
