Gefle U.E. | Aurora | Ringström | EF Teacup

This is one of their most desirable cups called Aurora by Helmer Ringström on the EF model. Note, it is just the one cup (because I've only found one so far - its not often on the market!) The intricate lace flourish pattern with bands of colour seems incongruous with the name Aurora (the night sky glow around the north pole) unless you see the pattern fully laid out as a mandala on a dinner plate framed by circles of night sky colours (brown/blue).

What's interesting about this pattern is that its popularity ensured its replication on another model named Maria (and I've managed to locate a few of these too), this time encircled by a yellow band. I've found no reference to the similarity, even though I can't be the first to notice... Maybe the idea was to depict night and day (which to be sure, is a fairly cool idea :) I added a pic of maria just so you can see. The teacup model has a cup height of 7cm, a diameter of 9.5cm and a saucer diameter of 16cm.
