Gefle U.E. | Mantilj | Percy | AX Coffee Cup

Hugely rare, and very fun, an amazing psychedelic cup from the 1950s on the AX model by Arthur Percy. This is very different to the previous Gefle cups I've listed.I've been unable to locate the designer for the decor on this cup. And although I dont doubt Arthur Percy's talent, I don't believe the pattern is his design especially if I compare it with his other more traditional work. His cup shape on the other hand, adapts well to both traditional style decor and postmodern quirky. It was most famously used by Helmer Ringström to produce the spotty Amanita line. Other AX model patterns I know of are Aster, Carmin, Drott, Florian, Nippon, Pastel, Pigg, Regent, Ritz, Rokoko, Skogsblommor, Tellus.... but there maybe more.

Don't confuse this cup Mantilj, with the other Mantilj (on the EH model)! Two cups with very different patterns and the same name. I smell a story, but I've not been able to dig it up yet...
