Very rare line of cup by Margareta and a departure for her not only in terms of colour, but also motif. I havent seen any other decoration with birds from her, as she usually focuses on plantlife. I haven’t heard of a particular intent regarding the radical change in colour (the SA-1 model colour scheme tended towards greens or browns) but it is probably not a coincidence that Paul Hoff also produced his only blue and red cup decor “Japan” in the same period.
