It doesn't really matter where you put the onion pattern, it always looks good. This is Gustavsbergs version of the onion pattern, they called the Dresden pattern because Dresden is the town next to Meissen and the onion pattern was originally coined by the manufacturer Meissen.

This is the smallest model produced by Gustavsberg, the SA. This pattern also comes on the SA-1 cup (a coffee cup) and the LL (the tea cup). A vintage and super rare  version is on the LI model!
