Gustavsberg | Dekor 2468 | SA | Lindberg c. 1952

This stunning decor is known only as number 2468 and was issued in 1952. Theres nothing I can find on who so beautifully hand-painted the decor but if you look closely you can see beautiful brushstrokes, which are remarkably similar to Rosalin & Julie. In 1952 none of the usual suspects (Hennix, Larson, Sundell, Björquist) had arrived at Gustavsberg. Which leaves Blomquist, Friberg, Liljefors and obviously Lindberg himself. 

I'm hypothesising it's Stig's cos he really seems to like those little leaves-slash-hearts on his decors... although it does seem a little complex for his style. (There is another possibility; Ursula Prinz left Gustavsberg in 1951. Her decors were complex, and she is known for her beautiful brushwork, but that’s pure conjecture).

1949 saw the launch of Stig Lindberg's first coffee service, the SA model (then 70 years later, I became obsessed with collecting it). Other decors I've found documented on the SA mocha cup are Colores, Florette, Rödhätta, Rosa, Dresden, Gustavsbergblomma, Rosalin & Julie.
