Baffi B by Karin Björnquist is on the same cup model as her cup Kalypso produced in the 1970s and its name has a delicious backstory.

Any vintage aficionado would recognise the famous Bialetti octagonal aluminum stove top coffee maker but you'd have to be particularly into coffee to know that it was invented by the Italian Alfonso Bialetti even if it was his son Renato Bialetti who was responsible for its international success. It was Renato who made the decision to use the now famous cartoon business man to promote the coffee maker, which then became synonymous with the brand. He is known as The little man with the Moustache... and in Italian, "L'omino con i baffi." 

(NB. Only hardcore espresso fans know that the little man used as the Bialetti moka express logo is actually a caricature of Renato by artist Paul Campani... of course now you know this too :)
