Rörstrand | Pomona | Cup & Saucer | Diamant Series by Jacqueline Lynd c. 1982

Many porcelain manufacturers have a Pomona pattern - unsurprisingly - since Pomona was the roman goddess of fruit (a motif which figures on a lot of cups!) She also gave her name to a city in the U.S, a ballet and the professor of herbology in Happy Potter :) Of course, Pomona is the goddess of all fruit but the type of fruit on this Pomona cup seems to be blueberries, a suitably Swedish choice! This version of Pomona follows Marianne Westman's previous big hit, Picknick Pomona also from Rörstrand, but Rorstrand's first pomona pattern was produced from 1892-1907.The cup model 'diamant' also comes with other fruity and flowerful designs - lingonberries, lilies and harebells, all of them I believe designed by Jackie Lynd. Both cup and saucer are in perfect condition. Saucer diameter 14cm Cup Height 5.5 cm
